Eid al-Fitr: A Fresh Start
Eid Mubarak, everyone! 🎉
Today we officially "graduate" from Ramadan. But have you ever stopped to think—what exactly did we win?
Honestly, I used to think Eid was like a finish line. Fasting's over, time to eat like crazy (not that we can't eat crazy food anyway, but you get it 😅).
But the more I reflect, the more I realize: 1 Syawal is actually a starting line.
Back to Fitrah = Reset Button
There's something special about 1 Syawal. We return to fitrah—pure, clean.
It's the perfect moment to ask yourself:
• "What am I actually building right now?"
• "Still motivated or already losing steam?"
• "Where am I taking this product?"
Taqwa Vibes for Builders
I recently noticed an interesting correlation between taqwa (God-consciousness) and building products:
When we're conscious of God, we become more intentional.
We don't want to cut corners. Building products is the same—when we know Someone's watching, we won't:
• Launch half-baked products
• Promise features we can't deliver
• Treat users as numbers instead of humans
We build with good intentions. Good intentions doesn't mean we can't make money—it means we don't want to scam, we don't want to deliver garbage, we don't want to cut corners.
There's a clear line.
Consistency > Hype
Ramadan teaches us one important lesson: being consistent is hard, but worth it.
Who can fast for 30 full days? Those who stay consistent.
Whose products succeed? Not the ones with the most hype at the start, but those who keep building even when:
• Nobody notices
• No revenue yet
• Feeling down and wanting to quit
Building is a marathon, not a sprint. And Ramadan is our training ground.
Real Talk: We All Need Money
Okay, I'm not gonna pretend to be holy.
I build products to make extra income. Not just "sadaqah jariyah" or "passive impact".
Because we need to pay bills, save up, and live, right?
But...
There's a difference between:
• Building products to help people while making money
• VS
• Building products to scam people for money
The first = halal, blessed, sustainable.
The second = ... ask yourself.
I choose the first one. And hopefully, the income that comes is blessed too.
A Little Confession...
Honestly, I'm building something right now.
A B2B app. Not because it's a problem I personally faced, but because I saw an opportunity from my previous work experience.
There's overlap, there's connection, there's a market that needs a solution. And I thought, "Why not build it?"
Is it "beneficial for people"? Well, in B2B context—beneficial means making clients' work more efficient, saving time, saving costs. If they're happy, I'm happy. Win-win.
My target: MVP launch soon. If nothing gets in the way, April or May we should be able to soft launch.
Wish me luck! 🤲
Should I drop a hint about the industry? 🤔
...
Nah, let's keep it mysterious for now. Let's just say it's related to a pretty established industry, and I believe there's room for disruption.
All I can say is, I'm building with good intentions—solving real problems in an industry I know, and hopefully creating a sustainable revenue stream.
And 1 Syawal becomes momentum for me (and maybe you too) to:
• Stay consistent in building, even when nobody knows
• Trust the process, even when the road is long
• Believe that something built with good intentions will find its way
So, What Are You Building Next?
Now we're at 1 Syawal. Fresh start. New intentions.
What do you want to build this year?
Maybe it's time to:
• Launch that product you've been postponing
• Pivot to something more meaningful
• Start shipping consistently, even if it's small
• Solve a problem that truly matters
───
I believe the best builders are those who build with good intentions and a clean heart.
And today, we have both.
Eid Mubarak. Welcome to your fresh start.
